Self Compassion, by Kristin Neff, PhD
This is a great read, especially if you are at the start of your journey and your inner critic is still seen as the enemy. By the end of the book, you will get a better understanding why self compassion is a mandatory life skill to have.

The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle
This gem was a Christmas present from a scientist, a very non-spiritual friend. He said: "From all the spiritual books, this sounds the most reasonable." This is a guide to present moment awareness and inner peace. It emphasizes the importance of detaching from your ego and mind chatter to find true happiness and fulfillment. It can be a lot to take in, especially if it's the first book of this genre, so take your time and read it with an open mind.
Letting Go - The Pathway of Surrender
by David R. Hawkins
This book came my way right at the start of my journey and I did struggle a lot with the notion of letting go. My brain refused to comprehend there is a different way of living, an easier way of living, without attachment, without neediness. I feel a bit ashamed to admit it took me 7 years to come to terms with it. The seed this book planted in me 7 years ago is growing stronger and stronger in me every day.
How Emotions Are Made - The Secret Life of the Brain, by Lisa Feldman Barrett
Another gem folks, this was a book my sister was reading in 2018. I liked the cover and asked her to lend me the book, she replied: Get one yourself! (She might have said, will give it to you when I finish reading it. 😅😅😅That's how I understood it) I chose to listen with the Audible free trial and it was a better choice, as the book is pretty full of scientific terms. Once you pass beyond the scientific part, lo and behold, there comes the wisdom. My Key Takeaways (lots, will just list three): ⇛ Emotional granularity - essential for gaining more confidence in putting into words what you are going through; ⇛ Learning how the brain works and the scientific proof of how emotions are made and what can we do about it. ⇛ You may not have chosen what happened to you, however, it is your responsibility on how to heal from it. (on trauma) Found it very empowering and set the foundation for me to shift from a victim mindset to a power mindset.
